I went deep into the Trillium beer archives to seek out my list of best Trillium beers to date. I live about 20 minutes from the brewery and I’m always being asked for recommendations. May this be a guide for what to look for when you pay a visit. Many of these beers roll in and out rotation so you never know what you’re going to get at the brewery. I like a lot of Trillium’s brews of course but these ones made a lasting impression on me.

Mettle Alloy Batch 6
Mettle Alloy made me forget everything I thought I knew about Trillium. I remember sipping and thinking it might be my favorite Trillium beer of all time. I’ll have to get it again to be sure. I can still taste the mango, OJ, and pineapple. Usually, DDH Melcher is my yardstick for beers—this one made me question that. View Beer

Super Street Shark
Super Street Shark is a BIG double IPA with so much flavor you could practically chew it. Aromas of mango nectar, pineapple, papaya smoothie, and citrus. It’s an IPA for any NE-style IPA lover. Incredibly drinkable 9% beer that will sneak up on you. View Beer

DDH Deciduous 2020
Deciduous DIPA originally came out in 2017 (I think?) and it rocked my world. I’ve been looking for this beer for the past 3 years and it finally came back in its IPA form in 2020. It’s phenomenally juicy, hazy, and tropical with notes of pineapple juice, sliced mango, and passion fruit. View Beer

Rising Hope
Rising Hope is a pale ale loaded with juicy flavor. My first reaction at first sip had me wondering if there were fresh citra hops still floating in the beer. Super fresh IPA packed with zesty grapefruit, orange pulp, lemon mist, pineapple, and apricot. An easy sipping NE-style IPA that won’t disappoint. View Beer

DDH Melcher Street
Whenever I’m asked for a Trillium rec the first beer I mention is DDH Melcher Street. Melcher Street is solid, but DDH Melcher just has something special about it. Orange pulp, dried apricot, mango, and passionfruit, need I say more? View Beer

Covered In Puppies
Covered In Puppies is as good as the label. Another beer that wowed me right out of the can. This beer is super juicy and tropical, with flavors of creamy pineapple. View Beer

Minot’s Ledge Lighthouse
I think I dragged half my coworkers to Trillium after trying Minot’s Ledge. It was hands down my favorite of the lighthouse series. An ultra hazy galaxy hopped beer with notes of mango, sweet pineapple, and orange candy. View beer

Blackberry Super Soak
The Soak series of sours are my go-to behind Trillium’s IPAs. It’s really close between their blueberry, raspberry, and blackberry sours, but I have to go with this one as my favorite. It’s super tart, rich, flavorful, and jammy. The Blackberry Super Soak is aged in oak for several months, giving it some oak flair. I’m a huge fan of oak in sours and wild ales. View Beer

Oenobier: Chenin Blanc
The Oenobier series is a new beer/wine hybrid style. I randomly picked this up not even knowing it was made with wine grapes and was pleasantly surprised with how interesting it was. It drinks like a fizzy and balanced wild ale with notes of oak and citrusy white wine. I sipped this on the beach and thoroughly enjoyed. View beer

Barrel-Aged Tiramisu
I’m not a big stout drinker…but when I do indulge it’s usually a dessert beer. Tiramisu is aged in bourbon oak barrels and brings notes of dark chocolate chips and dark coffee with accents of toasted oak and rich vanilla. This beer drinks a lot like a rich coffee stout with notes of chocolate and vanilla. Honorable mention goes to Coconut PM Dawn. View Beer
